Eccleshall 1 Oldham Town 2 The 1st team continued form their good run of form with a hard-fought defeat at the hands of Lancashire outfit, Oldham Town. Eccleshall fielded a young side, blooding a number of exciting prospects for the coming season. The youngsters were on level terms until the last 10 minutes of thne match when 3 goals were scored, sadly the majority for the high-flying visitors. Rocester 1 Eccleshall AFC 2 Eccleshall eased fears of relegation with another strong performance. 1-0 down at the break, Carl Bradshaw's fire power was needed up front and he delivered with a match winning brace. Had early season results mirrored the excellent run-in, then perhaps the Eagles could have been looking at another top of the table finish to add to manager Bob Askey's resumee. Staffordshire County Youth Cup Final Eccleshall Youth (U18s) 2 Boley Park 1 THE YOUNG Eagles came away with an excellent victory against excellent opposition at Marston Road (home of Stafford Rangers). Having gone a goal down a brilliant fightback ensued with a goal from Spencer Gunnell and capped off with a 'bullet' header by Thorley from a Heard corner. This is the first part of an optimistic, potential treble. The U18s are still battling for a place in the final of the Sentinel Cup along with winning the league title. For report, CLICK HERE. Sub Cup Semi Final 20/04/08 - Fulford 0 Eccleshall Youth (U18's) 2 Eccleshall go through to the final of the Sub Cup after two well taken first half goals from Spencer Gunnell. The first came after 15 minutes of sustained pressure from Ecclshall. Danny Heard put in a fine deep cross fro Gunnell to head in at the far post. The second, on 25 minutes, came from a through ball from Andy Oldham that Gunnell headed over the advancing Fulford keeper.
