Cheadle Heath Nomads make their first visit to Pershall Park for a Hallmark Security League Division One South fixture on Saturday ( 3pm ko ) after being promoted from the Cheshire League.
Eccleshall come into the game on the back of last week's late win at Maine Road, Reece White's wonder goal was Eccy's 750th in the North West Counties League.
Manager Nick Farrington, who himself was delighted to start his managerial career with a win welcomes back Jake Standbridge from suspension and should have a full squad to select from.
Nomads started life in their new league with a fine 2-0 against Stockport Town on the opening day, but went down 3-0 at one of the title favourites Sandbach Town on Tuesday night.
Looking forward to the game, Farrington said" Cheadle started life in the North West Counties strongly last Saturday defeating Stockport Town before traveling to Sandbach United on Tuesday evening. I was in attendance on Tuesday and the 3-0 defeat was certainly harsh on Cheadle, they showed great spirit and battle during a close first half and in my opinion Cheadle were much the better side in the second half, all signs suggest this afternoon will be a tough test.
Seven days have passed since we last played, returning from Maine Road with all three points, however for me it was more than that, the heart and courage displayed was amazing. We completely controlled the first half and unfairly only led 1-0 at the interval. However, as expected we came under a lot of pressure second half but stuck to our principles and thanks to a piece of individual brilliance from debutant Reece White we snatched a last minute victory. The scenes displayed both on the pitch and in the dressing room highlighted just how much the victory means.
We know we can still improve and the additions made to the squad over the summer have made for a extremely competitive selection, we are blessed to have such an amazing set of players, who are equally proud to represent our football club".
