After three weeks without a game due to the recent adverse weather, Eccleshall head to Merseyside to play 3rd placed Litherland Remyca and will be hoping to make it three league wins on the spin. Eccy followed up on the 3-0 win against Oswestry Town, with an excellent performance against Cammell Laird ( 4-2 ). Louis Downs brace in the Cammell Laird game took his total to 16 from 25 appearances.
Litherland were 2-0 winners at Pershall Park in the last game of 2017, but have only played three times since due to the weather, beating Carlisle City ( 3-0 ) and Cheadle Town ( 5-0 ) before just being edged out by league leaders Silsden ( 2-1 ). Lennon Whewell ( 13 ) and Colin McDonald head the scoring charts for Litherland.
Looking ahead to the game 1st Team Coach Nick Farrington said " it will be a tough test, we know that they are a good strong side who play direct football, like many of the sides in our league, but we will go there in a positive mind-set and have all the intentions of returning back to Staffordshire with all three points".
Eccleshall will be without influential midfielder Callum Feeney, who is in South Africa with the Stoke City Community Trust, but will have the experienced Ian Maitland and the returning Shay Finney in the squad.
