Eccleshall travel to Oswestry tomorrow for the Hallmark Security 1st Division fixture against Oswestry Town, the sides only met a ten days ago when Oswestry came out on top in the Macron Cup. This will be Eccy's first game since that fixture, last Saturday's game at Chadderton was lost to the weather, though we shouldn't have any problems tomorrow given that the game will be played on a 4g surface.
Last time out Oswestry were 4-3 losers away at Litherland REMYCA, their only defeat in their last six league games which has seen them win four and draw one of the other five. That run of results has seen them rise to 13th in the table with 22pts from 20 games, whilst Jack Harris tops their scoring charts with 10 goals, one of them coming in the game at Pershall Park.
Eccy's current form still sees just the one defeat in the last six league games, with three wins and two draws, giving us an overall total of seventeen points from an equal amount of games played and although a win at Oswestry will not improve our league position ( 19th ), we can at least close the gap on a number of teams above us. Louis Downs still tops the Eccy scoring list with ten league goals.
Speaking in Friday's Sentinel manager Dave Dale predicts a different outcome to the cup game, he explained : " I changed things around to give other players a game and had a couple of youngsters in, but tomorrow they will see a different Eccleshall. It's going to be a difficult game , don't get me wrong, but we will put up a better show than we did last week".
