The North West Counties League announced today that Eccleshall goalkeeper Louis McCarthy is the divisional goalkeeper of the month winner for September.

Louis played in all four games during the month and saved two spot kicks in the penalty shoot out at New Mills which took the Eagles through to the next round of the PlayerMatch.com First Division Cup. He also kept clean sheets in the home match against Stockport Town and away at Alsager Town and has played his part in Eccleshall's recent good run of league form which has taken the Eagles to sixth in the table. This is the club's highest position for a number of years.

The award is a pair of Reusch goalkeeper gloves and these should be presented by Glyn Jones of the League Management Committee at our next home match.
