At Wednesday evening's Staffordshire FA Senior Cup tie against Stoke City at Pershall Park, Eccleshall goalkeeper Louis McCarthy was presented with the September First Division South Goalkeeper of the Month Award. North West Counties League Management Committee member, Glyn Jones, presented Louis with his Reusch goalkeeping gloves before the match.

Club Secretary, Jim Tunney, said: "Louis had a good month for us with two clean sheets in four games and also helped us to progress to the next round of the PlayerMatch.com First Division Cup by saving two penalties in the shoot out at New Mills. Since joining the club at the beginning of the year, he has proved to be a great signing and everyone at Pershall Park is delighted that he has been recognised for his performances by the League".
