Welcome to coach Ben Henderson

Continuing our spotlight on the coaches who will be assisting our new manager Adam Proudlock this coming season, we now turn our focus on to Ben Henderson.

Ben is a Level 2 qualified coach and, after playing his football locally, wanted to get a feel for being involved on the coaching side of the game and from the dugout on match days.

Ben began his playing career at the West Bromwich Albion School of Excellence for several years up until the age of 17. From there, he joined Stafford Rangers youth team where he captained the side. He then progressed to open age football, joining Stafford Town where he played under Steve Dockerty - the former Eccleshall second team manager. It is coincidental that two of our new coaches have some kind of link with the Eagles.

After leaving Stafford Town, Ben joined Rocester where he was part of the team which won the Staffordshire Senior Cup in the 2007/08 season. From there, he turned out for our local rivals, Stone Old Alleynians, where he played for two seasons.

He returned to Stafford Town where he captained the side before he finally stopped playing due to injury after rupturing his Achilles tendon - the injury requiring surgery and recovery.

From then, he has turned his attention to coaching, now leading to him being part of the Eagles coaching set up with Adam for season 2020/21. Ben is another useful addition to our backroom team at Pershall Park.

Welcome to Eccleshall, Ben.

Our spotlight will fall on the final member of our new backroom team, Steve Wainwright, shortly.
